Omega and Alpha

It is with a sad and heavy heart that this editor must report that this edition marks the end of an era here at the Peabody Street Observer. Effective immediately, we’ve discontinued distribution of our perennially popular tri-quarterly paper. Due to an exceptionally volatile harvest season coupled with an epidemic level influenza outbreak in our pulp supply and distribution chain, we can longer adequately meet the demands of our constituency in a paper format.

However, fret not dear readers! While we mourn the loss of our beloved tri-quarterly, we stand at the precipice of an exciting new time for the Observer. The age of technology--as reported both by the Observer and our competitors--is upon us! This edition marks our first full step onto the World-Wide Web. We hope with this new format to present up-to-the-month updates to our readers with efficiency and photographic resolution not previously possible.

We hope to maintain our loyal readership through this transitional period, although we know that change does not always come easily. Like many of you, this editor will dearly miss the welcome arrival of the Observer in the much anticipated evening post every third Sunday following the second non-holiday Monday of the month. For those amongst you who may experience inordinate levels of despondence and melancholy through this transition, we recommend home-printing future editions of the Observer and pasting them over the Style section of one of our competitor’s papers.

From the sloping hill of Rock Creek Ford Road Northwest to the pristine curbs of Berkshire Drive, Maryland we humbly thank you, our dear Peabody Street Observer readers, for your continued support and constituency. We endeavor to maintain the exceptionally high level of reporting and opinion you’ve come to expect from our paper over the last several dozen tri-quarters.

Godspeed dear readers.
