| "Skittles" safely back in the custody of his handler |
A wild canine was spotted fleeing west, unmanned leash in tow, on Peabody Street NW Monday shortly after noon. The pooch, who may answer to the name “Skittles” appeared to have escaped from the custody of his walker who could be seen trailing several yards behind. The dog was restrained and apprehended just before the intersection of 6th and Peabody NW by a courteous passerby. On the return trip, sources report overhearing the handler admonish the itinerant pup for his "reckless disregard and abandoment."
